June 1792 was the date recorded for first contact with Europeans. The Spanish were on their ships but it was never officially recorded in their journals. Our people saw the big ship from Howe Sound and a bunch of our men went down in our canoes to greet them. Our people were confused because they were so white, and thought maybe they were ghosts. Watts Point is the location of first meet. It was obvious to Captain Vancouver that our people did not have any influences of European goods in possession so it must have been the first meet.
