Worldview
What is important about worldview and Indigenous education?
Like I’ve stated earlier, a younger version of me, was not able to articulate how I was different but this all encompassing graphic is an extension of my view of the world that we live in and that we come from.
Worldview can be defined as: a particular philosophy of life or conception of the world.
My concept of the world extends beyond the circular idea and into the abyss of the vast universe space. My worldview begins in the centre of how I was raised and extends outward into my family, my teachings, my ancestors and our villages: it then extends into the natural world outside of us and then further out into the larger vast areas of the world including "space."
My worldview encompasses many different layers and how I think stems from my relationships with all of these things. How I navigate in life is connected to all these things. Learning our language has made my worldview much more whole and interconnected.
My view of the world changes with each season and every growth spurt I have. I grow, I change, I reflect, I think, and I expand.
